This page lists the temples in Okinawa Prefecture by municipality. Use it as a starting point when searching for an ancestral family temple (bodaiji) or the location of its death registers (kakochō).
Please note • This list is based on temple names registered in map data (OpenStreetMap) and does not cover every temple in Okinawa Prefecture (currently 39 entries). Many temples are missing in some areas. • “Location” is the municipality and district (“oaza” or town name) worked out from the position on the map, not a full street address. The sect is shown only for temples that have a registered value. • Temple names, sects and locations are shown in the original Japanese as registered. Please check with the temple or the local government for current information before visiting or making inquiries.
